She may be your friend, neighbor or even a member of your family...
She hides her pain behind a smile and a “Baruch Hashem”
She walks on eggshells, fending off put-downs, and making extraordinary efforts to maintain Shalom Bayis.
She's fighting depression and trying to protect the kids - alone.
You may see cuts and bruises, but even if you don’t, you know she's living in fear of the next threat, humiliation, or act of intimidation - even if she is too ashamed to discuss it.
With Tikvah Toronto She Is Never Alone.
Who We Are And What We Do
We are a women-centered organization run exclusively for frum women by frum women. Our mission is to provide practical support, mentorship, workshops, information sessions, professional counseling, and peer support for Orthodox Jewish women to navigate past and present challenges and trauma in their marital relationships and family lives.
Our Goal
At Tikvah Toronto, women acquire the emotional, social, and spiritual tools needed to enhance their sense of self-reliance, self-worth, dignity, faith, and peace.
We strive to provide an open and safe support system to promote healing from domestic conflict.
Our mandate is to support women experiencing marital conflict, navigating divorce, and beyond.
Our Approach
Our staff understands the difference between typical marital conflict and domestic abuse -- and in the former cases, Shalom Bayis is always the ultimate goal.
If a woman decides to stay in her marriage, Tikvah will offer support to help her cope with her challenges.
If, however, she is in danger and decides to leave, Tikvah will help her create and implement a safety plan.
We work collaboratively with Rabbonim to ensure our support aligns with Daas Torah and partner with existing agencies to avoid duplicating services.

Our clients say:
“Tikvah, what an appropriate name! Someone mentioned it to me only nine months after I had moved back to Canada to a new city with my children. It was a very, very long, hard, and lonely winter. I still had many loose ends, and speaking with Batsheva, I was completely overwhelmed with gratitude for her knowledge, help, and kindness. She helped me with cooked meals, a referral to a vetted legal aid lawyer, and connected me with staff members at different agencies that helped me get what my family needed. Thank you, Tikvah. You’ve helped me bring light (and practicality) back into my life.”
“Tikvah Toronto is a bracha to women who are at their most vulnerable stages. The staff literally hold the hands of these women, offering guidance, chizuk, a listening ear, and a shoulder to cry on. There is no service like this offered in our city; it is desperately needed. This is a group of devoted women helping other women through a major life transition. Together they address the mental and emotional needs of the mothers and children. They don’t just to help them survive but actually thrive as they enter a new chapter in their lives.”
“I just wanted to write an email telling you how incredible the Tikvah organization is - especially Mrs. Batsheva Sack. I've been under so much stress dealing with my children's father. Things are not going well and I need to change the terms of our agreement. I am only able to work on this and move ahead for the best interests of my children because of Mrs. Sack. She is so patient and listens to me. Then she calms me down by providing helpful information due to her experience and knowledge. I would not be able to help my children without her help. Any donation you were thinking of giving is helping my children live without emotional stress and verbal abuse.”
